What is the New Paused Metric?
The New Paused metric represents the number of subscriptions that have transitioned from an active to a paused state during a selected period. This metric highlights how many users chose to temporarily suspend their subscription within that timeframe. Read more about Pause.
You can find it in the Cleeng Dashboard under Analytics > Paused Subscriptions.
How is it Calculated?
The formula can be expressed as:
New Paused = Count of subscriptions that moved from active to paused status during the selected period
The metric is based on the date the pause event occurred. The default view in the dashboard displays the last 30 days of data.
How to Use the New Paused Metric in a Subscription Business
Tracking new pause events helps you understand when and why subscribers are pausing their plans. Use this metric to:
- Detect Patterns in Subscriber Behavior: Identify spikes in pauses that may be tied to seasonality, product changes, or external events.
- Monitor Engagement Signals: A rising number of new pauses can indicate disengagement or dissatisfaction.
- Inform Communication Strategy: Use this data to plan timely, targeted campaigns to encourage resumption or gather feedback.
- Compare Across Offers and Channels: Understand if certain offers or acquisition sources lead to higher pause rates.
