European VAT Rules 2015 and Taxes and Price Differences
If you are using Cleeng Merchant and are operating from inside the EU Cleeng will handle all legal compliance (GDPR) and financial taxation. Cleeng will collect VAT on your behalf. Cleeng works in accordance with the fiscal and legal regulations and thus is fully responsible for handling the VAT operations on your behalf. Your viewers will be automatically charged the correct VAT rate per country, in line with the new VAT regulations (2015).
- Cleeng adds VAT appropriate to the country in which the viewer is located at the time of sale (not Seller or product's location) and there’s no further action or configuration required from Cleeng Broadcasters.
- Cleeng collects VAT based on the viewer location and registered profile. The payout to Broadcasters is made excl. VAT.
- Cleeng uses the VAT Mini One Stop Shop (VAT MOSS) to report and pay VAT - the total VAT is collected per country, and the administration dispatches money to particular countries.
If you are in the United States, please consult a tax professional to help you determine where and when you are subject to taxes. You are responsible for setting the right tax rate as part of your pricing, and remit to authorities.
If you are outside the US and European Union, you are responsible for setting the right tax rate and remit to authorities.
