Manually Activating Subscription Access

In some cases, you may need to give a specific customer access to a subscription outside of the normal checkout flow, for example, as compensation for a service disruption or to resolve a support issue. This article covers one-off access grants for individual customers in a support context.

Cleeng does not support direct manual subscription activation. The recommended approach is to create a 100% discount coupon and share it with the customer.

How to Grant Access Using a Coupon

To give a customer access to a subscription offer at no cost, create a single-use coupon campaign with a 100% discount targeted at the relevant offer, then share the coupon code directly with the customer.

1. In the Cleeng dashboard, go to Offers & Coupons > Coupon Campaigns.

2. Click Create New Campaign and complete the setup wizard as described below.

Campaign Details

1. Name: Enter a name for the campaign. This is for your use only and will not be shown to your customers.
2. Campaign type: Single code
3. Discount percentage: 100
4. Requires Payment Details: No
5. Coupon Code: Enter the code your customer will use to redeem the offer.

Offer Targeting Rules

1. Campaign Applicable On: Select the offer type the coupon should apply to (subscriptions, one-time purchases, live events).
2. Subscription Type: Select whether the coupon applies to all subscriptions, new subscriptions only, or existing subscriptions only.
3. Restrict Campaign To: (Optional) Search for and add the specific offer you want the customer to access.

Redemption Limits

1. Discounted Billing Periods: Enter the number of billing cycles the discount applies per customer.
2. Allow for unlimited billing cycles: Select Yes or No depending on whether the discount should apply indefinitely.
3. Campaign Expiration: Set to Total Redemptions and enter the number of times the code can be redeemed.
4. Click Finish setup.

3. Share the coupon code directly with the customer.

The customer can apply the coupon at checkout or through My Account.
