This metric provides you with perspective on the cost of payment processing problems. It shows you the total revenue amount lost through failed transactions in the period you have selected.
It is important to assess which methods, and gateways, are making the largest contribution to this number. As they should your primary targets for improving your payment processes. You can use the Pay step of the Retention Journey to forensically examine such questions.
Filtering by payment gateway and method will allow you to identify what specifically accounts for your lost revenue. And where in the payment/billing process most of this revenue is lost (eg. initial or recurring payments).
Measurement: The value of failed payments is the summed amount of all failed transactions for the period you have selected.
