Upgraded Segmentation for Deeper Customer Insights
We've made our powerful customer segmentation tool even better. The upgraded version now includes a wider range of customer attributes and lifecycle statuses, along with data from Pass plans, expanding beyond subscription customers to give you a more complete view of your customer base.
This richer, more robust dataset also addresses previous issues with occasional duplicate or missing subscriptions, enabling you to build even more precise and effective customer segments for targeting and analysis.
Key improvements include:
- More lifecycle events: More easily identify subscribers who are in a free trial, in grace period, or have paused their subscription.
- Complementary Customer and Subscription Attributes: Analyze customer-level data (like total lifetime revenue) and subscription-specific metrics (like the revenue from a single plan).
- Precise Targeting for “Hybrid Users”: Unified segmentation of customers who have both recurring and non-recurring offers.
- Handling concurrent subscriptions: For customers with multiple active subscriptions, you can now pinpoint the exact subscription you want to analyze thanks to the new Subscription Selector.
Important new attributes:
- Total lifetime transactions
- Has active Pass
- Latest Pass title
- Latest Pass ID
- Latest Pass end date
- No. of active/paid active/churned subscriptions in lifetime
- Subscription in grace period
- Subscription is paused
- Latest payment rejection reason
Where to find it
Navigate to Cleeng Dashboard > ChurnIQ > Segments.
What about legacy segments?
The old segments are still available in the Cleeng dashboard in a dedicated space: Admin & Tools -> Legacy Segments. Your existing schedules will remain active.They will remain available until further notice.

You will get more actionable insights for users who are at the key stages of their customer journey. You’ll also be able to quickly visualize the composition of your subscriber base at a glance, across key factors such as loyalty to your platform, monetary value and potential, and short-term stability as paying customers.

✨ Customizable Pass Durations in Days
We've added a "Number of days" option for pass durations. Now you can define the duration of a pass as a specific number of days. For example, you can set a 30-day pass duration, independent of the calendar month.
This gives you more precise control over your pass offers, and provides your customers with a clear access window as the entitlement will last for the exact number of days specified.
Where to find it
You can find this new option when creating or editing a pass offer in the Cleeng Dashboard, under the Offers & Coupons section.

📊 Merchant Analytics - Enhanced Country Filtering with Region Selection
You can now explore your Merchant Analytics Dashboard data by geographic area using two filters - Region and Country - for more flexible and insightful analysis.
Here’s how you can use it:
- To view data for an entire region: 1. Select one or more regions from the Region filter (e.g. MENA, Asia Pacific, Europe). 2. Do not select anything in the Country filter.
- To view data for specific countries within a region: 1. Select a region first - this will update the Country filter to show only countries from that region. 2. Select the specific countries you want to focus on.
Additionally, we have replaced country codes with full country names for improved clarity.
Where to find it
This is available in the Merchant Performance Analytics on the Merchant Overview and Retried Payments pages (under Cleeng Dashboard > Merchant). This feature is accessible to clients using Cleeng’s Merchant and highlights the web payments performance.

API Changes
🚀 Public Keys Roll-out
We have introduced a new JWKS (JSON Web Key Set) endpoint (https://auth.api.prod.cleeng.com/.well-known/jwks.json) to our authentication service. This allows for the dynamic retrieval of the public key set required to validate Cleeng’s JWTs (JSON Web Tokens).
This provides a standardized and more secure method for developers to validate tokens, improving the overall security and integrity of integrations.
Starting with this roll-out, this is a recommended method for Cleeng JWT tokens validation.
