Cleeng MCP Server uses Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open standard that lets AI tools connect to Cleeng. Administrators grant roles to individual users in the Cleeng Dashboard. Nobody can connect an AI tool if they have not been given MCP access.
The Cleeng MCP server is built and hosted by Cleeng. Adding it to your selected AI tool (e.g. Claude or similar) account lets your selected AI tool read Cleeng data and, with your confirmation, change it, on your behalf, within your existing dashboard permissions.
This is not a Cleeng-provided AI feature and is not an endorsement of, or warranty regarding, a specific AI tool. You are connecting your own AI tool to your own Cleeng data, at your own discretion. Cleeng assumes no liability for any outcomes or any issues resulting from such a connection. Data your selected AI tool account retrieves from Cleeng is subject to your agreement with the respective provider (e.g. Anthropic for Claude) once it reaches your selected AI tool (e.g. Claude).
Who can grant MCP access
Users with owner and administrator roles in the Cleeng dashboard can grant MCP access to team members.
Before you start
- You can grant MCP access only to people who already have a Cleeng Dashboard login. Create the Cleeng account first.
- Decide which roles each person needs. If you grant Read + write permission level on a role, that person’s AI tool can write changes to your account.
Grant roles to each user
- Go to Cleeng Dashboard > Admin & Tools > Access & Security > Roles & Team.
- Select a user. For an existing user, click Edit role in the three-dot row menu. To add someone new, click Add team member - see Adding a Team Member).
- Go to the Cleeng MCP access section for a selected user.
- Select the checkbox next to each role you want to grant, then set its user permission level to Read only or Read + write. The roles you can choose from:
- Retention Intelligence
- Customer Experience Management
- Product Management
A person with a granted role can now connect their AI tool (see Cleeng MCP Server: Connect your AI tool).
Change or remove access
To change or remove access, select a person, use the Edit role option to open the form, and go to the Cleeng MCP access section. Lower the permission level, or remove the role for the user (unselect it).
The change applies on that person’s next request. Cleeng refuses anything the new level no longer permits.
