What Is the Active Passes & Subscriptions Dashboard?
The Active Passes & Subscriptions dashboard shows your full active audience in one view: recurring subscriptions and non-recurring passes, combined.
You can find it in the Cleeng Dashboard under Analytics.
What the Metrics Mean
- Active Passes counts the passes whose access period covers a given day. A pass is active from its start date up to, but not including, its end date. The end date is the recorded end of the pass or, when no end has been recorded, its scheduled expiration date. Passes have no grace period.
- The Active Subscriptions metric shows the total number of unique subscriptions that are currently active. A subscription is considered active if its status is not set to churned, regardless of whether the subscription is in a trial or paid state.
- Active Subscriptions & Passes is the sum of Active Subscriptions and Active Passes on the same day.
Both metrics count units, not customers. A customer who holds an active subscription and an active pass at the same time appears once in each metric.
How to Use the Dashboard
- The chart shows Active Subscriptions, Active Passes, and the Total as three shaded area lines. The table breaks each period down into the same three numbers.
- Filters: Select Timeframe (Day, Week, Month), Date (default: last 30 days), Channel, Offer Title, and Customer Country. Every filter applies to both the chart and the table.
- Channel means the acquisition channel for subscriptions and the transaction channel for passes.
- With Week or Month selected, a unit counts as active if it was active at any point in that period, so weekly and monthly values are higher than any single day's value.
Why These Metrics Matter
The total on its own can hide what's actually happening in your audience. Compare Active Subscriptions and Active Passes to see the real picture.
If Active Passes grows faster than Active Subscriptions, more of your audience is choosing one-time access over a recurring offer. That's worth a look at whether your subscription offers and pricing still fit what that audience wants.
If Active Subscriptions grows faster, your recurring base is strengthening, and passes may be working as intended: a low-commitment entry point rather than a replacement for a subscription.
