You can automate the sending segment to your marketing platform in just a few minutes using ChurnIQ and Zapier. There are just 4 steps, 2 in ChurnIQ and 2 in Zapier.
Step 1 - Define Your Segment
The first and most important step is to define your segment. You can use ChurnIQ's key segments (predefined) to do this, or you can create your own using attributes. To define a segment, just use filters to define the rules for this segment. For example, all customers who signed up to your annual plan via the web channel yesterday.
Learn more about combining attributes here.
Step 2 - Automate the sending of this segment
Next, you define the schedule for sending this segment. For example, you may want the segment to be sent to your marketing platform every morning at 6am.
Step 3 - Connect to Zapier
Click the Zapier icon as the destination for your data in the scheduler (as above). In your Zapier dashboard, select Webhooks by Zapier as your first app, and your marketing tool as the second.
Lastly, take the following two actions:
- Enter 'data' in the child key field (this means Zapier will only hook your data and ignore irrelevant system information)
- Copy the custom webhook url
Then paste the url into the ChurnIQ schedule window, and you are ready to go.
Step 4 - Send to your marketing platform
The final step is to tell Zapier what action to take when it receives your customer segment from ChurnIQ. This can be done as the second part of the workflow we started in step 3. There are just a few settings to define here:
- The account in the application you are connecting to
- The action the application should take (eg. add a subscriber to a list)
- The data points you want to send (eg. Name or email address)
If you would like to better understand how to identify the correct data points to connect to your marketing tool when creating your Zapier workflows for ChurnIQ, you can watch a short guide in this video.
The only remaining step is to test and turn on the automation. Zapier will prompt you to do this as part of the workflow. Once the automation is switched on, you are done.
