dLocal is a payment processor specializing in emerging markets, giving businesses access to local payment methods across Latin America, Africa, and Asia. In Brazil, dLocal connects to Pix Automático, the recurring payment rail built on PIX that lets subscribers authorize automatic debits for ongoing subscriptions. Cleeng connects to dLocal in two ways, depending on whether you use Merchant or non-Merchant.
dLocal for Merchant customers
For Merchant customers, Cleeng provides a direct connection to dLocal for Pix Automático in Brazil. This lets your Brazilian subscribers pay and renew via PIX, while Cleeng acts as your Merchant of Record (MoR), handling tax, compliance, fraud, and payouts on your behalf.
Supported payment method via dLocal for Merchant:
- Pix Automático (recurring debit, Brazil)
- More methods upon request
dLocal for non-Merchant customers, via Primer
Cleeng's out-of-the-box integration with dLocal is also available for non-Merchant customers, meaning publishers who want to remain their own Merchant of Record. This connection runs through Primer, a payment orchestration platform with a single integration point to dozens of payment service providers (PSPs) and payment methods.
If you are a non-Merchant customer who already has (or wants to have) a dLocal account, you can benefit from Cleeng's other products (Core, ChurnIQ, Hi5) while continuing to process your payments via dLocal under your existing terms and pricing with dLocal.
Benefits
Connecting to dLocal through Cleeng gives you several advantages:
- Local reach: Give Brazilian subscribers a payment method they already trust and use daily, improving conversion and reducing failed payments.
- Recurring by design: Pix Automático is built for subscriptions, so renewals happen automatically without repeated manual authorization.
- Multi-PSP flexibility: Whether you're on Merchant or non-Merchant, Cleeng can route local methods like PIX through dLocal while other Payment Service providers (PSPs) like Stripe or Adyen handle other markets and methods.
Integration Guide
Important: Merchant customers can get dLocal set up directly by Cleeng as part of onboarding; Non-Merchant customers can integrate via Primer using their own dLocal account. Speak with your Cleeng account manager to enable Pix Automático.
